Spreading Dreams

I sleep during daylight hours
dreaming with my eyes open
reading you
calms my beating mind
and sinks raw desire deep
into the rose-colored marrow
dark into the night
I lie in bed awake
rippling velvet nuances
blanket my flesh
I am at peace
body relaxed
knowing your words are
spreading dreams

Pastel nude drawn long ago in a figure class…

    • Ah thanks, Leslie – I generally keep the imagery to PG-!3 + a little scary – so I hedged for a naked moment. Then I thought about today’s student attire, “this model is wearing more clothes than they do.” ๐Ÿ˜‰
But, I do thank you. You are very kind.

    • Evening, Alan.
Thank you. I so miss live figure drawing. When the kiddies are safely off to college and there are gaps of leisure time, I’m determined to return. When one has command of the human form, artistically speaking, other forms of drafting seem much more fluid.
I hope all is well with you.
      Very excited, tomorrow is Friday!!!

All is well, thank you. Make sure you extract all the goodness from Friday that will bring peace for a lovely weekend!

      • Morning, Alan.
Well, thank you ever so much for the enormous vote of confidence. I humbly appreciate your generous thoughts.
I’m sucking the goodness out of Friday, but not too much – I don’t want to be hoggish ๐Ÿ˜‰
Lovely weekend to you as well.

  1. I absolutely love the artwork, AM, and I do hope one day you return to pastels, figure drawing and painting; you are so very talented. As for the writing, I hope I can explain this clearly, but fear I can’t. There are times when I read something and wish I’d written it (this piece, for example). There are other times when I read something that achieves a “shock of recognition,” a total clarity of understanding and feeling, that is so artful and difficult to achieve it is almost ethereal. This piece feels that way to me; more reason to be astounded. It’s quite lovely, AM.

    • Ah, geez Deb – thank you so very much for this beautiful and artful comment. You are way too kind to my ego who loves eating uplifting words of encouragement. You have to keep an eye on her ya know – or she might try taking over the planet ๐Ÿ˜‰
      Happy Friday!!!!!

      • I wish you’d take over the planet soon before all the animals are extinct. ๐Ÿ™‚ There ought to be a book about …. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s raining here. Btw: I always mean what I say.

      • Ooo, if I could, I’d like a big crown like the Parkay margarine guy used to wear – do you remember him?
‘E’gads – hope the environment survives – I think it will – so many caring people…
Yippy, rain. Keith is watching the nursery plants dry up and we need rain here. I’ll tell him it’s definitely on the way this time.
And finally, thank you, my friend as always.
Did I already say it’s FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

      • I actually do remember the Parkay man, Swiss Miss. And the environment will survive because, as you say, there are many caring people out there, of which you are one — and your soon to be published book will definitely help the cause. It’s pouring here. Charlie just jumped it’s coming down so hard.
