I believe in quiet miracles of love
selflessness of the human heart
the breadth of compassion
the faith of Heaven above
tucked in floating clouds
and the people below
colors of rainbows
both on this side
and the other
I believe
one day
we will
fully realize
our humanity
and peace
will settle
across the land
“…Faith is believing in something when commonsense tells you not to…”
–from the movie, Miracle on 34th Street
To those who celebrate, Happy Easter
To those who don’t, have a lovely weekend
art titled, “Friends” – created at nine years of age, when I had much shorter hair and much longer sleeps 😉
Thank you so for your beautiful words and Easter greetings. I have been away from WP since last Sunday. By the time I will have played organ for Easter Sunday I will have played 5 services in 8 days…phew, one of them a very big, very sad funeral here in Lanark. Thank you for this and I notice that you put a streak of white, to show the reflection of light on your apple…even at the age of 9! Well done you! I hope this finds you and yours well and happy and my love to you all this Eastertime… 🙂

Well, this is certainly evidence/proof of an exemplary artistic future. I marvel at the detail, the earmarks of the distinct AMRK late style — the soulful, expressive eyes and the little (don’t know what’cha call it) “trademark” on the turtle (like your earth thingies now). Gosh, what was I doing when I was 9? Let’s see, I think I was mastering cursive writing, squeezing a #2 pencil between my fat fingers (squeezing so hard I still have to this day a big bump on my middle finger). 😉 Anyhoo, love the drawing — and my gosh, the beautiful words to go along with it! Happy Easter, AnnMarie! 🍷🇮🇪🌺🌷🐣

P.S. Have no clue what those blue “i” and “e” mean. They were supposed to be flower emoticons or something.

Happy Easter to you, DS
I used to draw my critters this way all the time –
I can see a 9 year old DS scratching her head, furiously writing then writing some more 🙂

I hope the Easter Bunny steals all your commas;)

You’re mega-talented, what can I say. And I didn’t scratch my head so much as bang it against the wall 🙂
Say — I meant to add that I like the way the poem “looks” like a “cup” (I should know the word for that technique, I learned it in one of my college Lit classes).
I think of the Easter Bunny dropping all of those commas on my friggin’ MSs, like little bunny feces, lol.

scratching a wall or banging one leaves passionate impressions;)
I didn’t think about making it a cup, just sort of started looking like one so I molded it a bit when I saw what was happening:) lol, comma poop
