(away)

burning

you arrived late
I sent you
(away)
you came back
sat there
and chipped into my circle
in your eyes
settled long ago
was something vague
I could not reach
yet
those watery surfaces gave
(away)
the clearest understanding
there was a suffering
your sweet mouth sealed from escape
and continued to do so
despite my knees on the floor
sometimes
there is the sometime
when no words
touch
or thought of any dimension
can worm into a wall

  1. AM, you’ve so deftly captured an unexplainable feeling here, which is quite remarkable — an understanding “no words” can “touch.” Beautiful. You know, I’m always noticing your attention to eyes, in your words and in your artwork. They’re present here as well, and they have become most effective at communicating this uncommunicable emotion. More stretching — more limbering up. It’s fun to “see” πŸ™‚

Love all of this and especially these lines. These are, as my poetry mentor used to say, a poem within a poem! πŸ™‚ Raining here — good day for a book and a nap!
