to bore into the underbelly of our hearts.
When trying to imagine the light
this grey time of year can envelop us
in its blue without shadow
To taste the sun on our bones
we must always be willing to barrel down the glassy peaks —
ice be damned!

– this morning I was thinking about the ice dark outside my studio window and these words found their way into my cold dang fingers – this is my winter desktop every year – it changes along with the seasons
I hope you’re all managing well.

Your cold fingers warmed up enough to produce this perfect piece for the season.

I can’t wait for a break in the weather. It’s as mean as everything else because sun brings freezing cold and darkness leaves us in never ending grayness.

hi there Dan
I’ve been making art and writing offline quite a bit, and I haven’t been posting nearly as much as I have in previous years. I do hope to do more in 2024.
I do hope you are well. Sorry to read about your sister. I wish her a speedy recovery.
So glad to know you’re continuing along in your creative journey – that’s fantastic!
Keep the faith and the good work going!
