Sculpt no.9 – Major Tom aka Hank-Olin

Sculpt no.9 – it seems I’ve entered my love-of-Bowie phase late in life. During Major Tom’s aka Hank-Olin’s creation, the best of Bowie rocked my studio. (this sculpt stands at 22 inches tall and weighs approx 18 pounds – Hank is weightless in space of course)

Hank-Olin is near to my heart ❤️ He needs care and love – as he is sweet and kind. He’s concerned over earth’s fate, so he has tethered our precious blue marble to his space mitt. He’ll hold on as long as possible…

If you’re ever in the area and you’ve not been yet, the UFO Fair in Pine Bush, NY, is a gas.
Saturday, June 7th, 10am to 4 pm. Rain date – June 8th. May the fun be with you👽

Onward and upward we all spin on this crazy blue marble!

am:)

  1. Hey AnnMarie HOw Are You? So Talented You Are as Yoda would say. The future is always in motion. I’ve been doing better than ever with my blood sugars one month with the average for the month 100 normal sugar level. I have to cheat sometimes to sustain the diet. I was smoking for a few weeks over my sister being in the hospital. I quit. You would be proud of me the first day I quit I was walking down to get more cigarettes but I walked in the other direction to get coffee, My sister said she is going to pay me handsomely for helping her keep her job I emailed her bosses a short message to say she was in the hospital and would come back with a return date my sister couldnt contact her work because there was no smartphones allowed they locked it up that hospital is not meant for her all violent criminals there one guy had a device on him to track him at all times. My sister seems better the only problem is the lazy doctor and lying caseworker who said she would help her fill out the medical leave and she left for the rest of the day. Very unprofessional. My dad reported the caseworker to her boss so hopefully it will get done. I look forward to my payment. As her brother it’s what I should do with no reward but I could use the money. My da d said it was a big thing I did and without me my sister would have lost her job. She was kind of mean when she was telling me what to do so another reason I’ll take payment I hate it when you bare trying to help someone and they are yelling at me takes after my dad, Well you keep up the great work AnnMarie anything is good created by you!

  2. As I said today, this guy is terrific, AM. Black tubing (glad you mentioned it) is perfect, as is the screw/antenna in his head. Of course, like your 2D art, it’s always the eyes—and you’ve created a striking pair on Hank-Olin (meant to ask about his name, but forgot). The viewer can see her/himself in HO’s eyes, which is really cool. Keep sculpting my friend! You’re rockin’ it! DS

    • Many thanks my friend for your kind words. 😁
It’s quite silly how he arrived at his informal name – Hank-Olin. His formal – Major Tom initials MT reminded me of M&T Bank. So bank became Hank – then I thought – wait – I don’t want to name him after commerce – but my dear daughter loved the name Hank for him
So, Olin popped into my head as a second – and Caroline and I compromised as mothers and daughters will on rare occasions😁
