A pencil sketch I made of my dear friend, DS Levy, when she was a child.
(Inspired by a childhood photo DS shared with me taken by a childhood friend)
The ‘poem’ above was written this morning after feeling overwhelmed by the news. I wrote it to remind myself that we can’t give up the fight for our country – a country where empathy, kindness, compassion, fairness, equity, science… – you know – the good stuff that makes us human – once prevailed
We are better than the sum of this current government
We are much better
My goodness! What a surprise to wake up this morning and see me, myself and I adorning your blog post, Miss! An excellent rendering of the photo, too! And, I’ll tell you this in person, but I just want you to know that my brother-in-law absolutely adored the Iggy drawing! He put on his Iggy Pop t-shirt the next day and proudly displayed your drawing! Love your words here too (and glad to see you writing) and couldn’t agree more with their poetic truth and beauty. Chat soon, DS

HI DS
comment is from cdog – you solved the “someone” mystery😁
it is oh, so much easier, to render something from a great photo to begin with!
I’m happy your bro-in-law like Iggy. I recently learned from a neighbor that Iggy’s tour bus parked in front of our house🏡
My burst of triage social media-ing for my artwork is forcing words from my fingers 😁

I will be sure to tell my bro-in-law about Iggy’s tour bus! Glad your art is inspiriting (I meant to write “inspiring,” but maybe the fingers know better) your writing. 😊🍂
