House Painting

My Friends,
The giant husband’s father was a house painter by trade. Pops was old-school. Everything had to be perfect and not a drop of Behr’s ever spilled. When it comes to painting the walls in our home, the giant husband expects no less. He’s a perfectionist. I’m not allowed to paint interior walls solid colors. I can’t paint neatly. Though, the giant husband doesn’t mind when I use more than one color. 🙂

Thank you. May you dream of being surrounded by beautiful color…

  1. I love your paintings, AnnMarie! In our house in San Bernardino, Mom painted a mural on the kitchen wall. It was a fruit tree, with every fruit imaginable growing on it (including watermelon slices). She had seen a mural of an orange tree in Sunset Magazine, and decided to do her own. Only when it was completed did she realize there were no oranges on it! Happy painting – Fawn

  2. One of life’s lessons that I learned at a very early age is quality workmanship. My dad built houses from the ground up. He hired a colored friend of ours who couldn’t even read but dug perfect foundations for my dad’s houses. My dad always taught me that any job worth doing is worth doing right, the first time.

  3. Good morning, AM! Lovely murals (again!), and I think we’ve had this discussion about painting before — I’m not allowed to paint either. 🙂 Keith’s dad sounds like he was a great fellow, and it’s very sweet that you’ve honored him by hanging his brush in your studio. I meant to write this last night, but was so tired (it was all I could do to get something up on my blog). And I knew I’d be up early this a.m. because we’re now having to “babysit” Millie from the time she gets up to the time she goes to bed. Hope you have a great day today, Miss! (Snowing a little here.) 🙂

    • Hey, morning Deb!
Keith and Caroline departed at 4 am – off to New Mexico.
      I’m up, coffee’s brewing…
Keith’s dad was a funny guy and has been missed these passed 8 years. I hope Millie is okay. I remember Chama, my beautiful last Shepherd – her last year was a difficult one…
Millie is fortunate you guys love her so 🙂

      • I’m on my first cup. 🙂 Glad to hear K&C got off fine, must have made for an early a.m. Yes, I can understand about Chama. Trouble is, Millie’s incontinence is causing some “tension” in the house, so that’s interesting. Hey, got your email — will read/respond. Enjoy that coffee! I was going to go to the Mastodon cafe to see blue eyes (saw him in the grocery store of all places the other day!), but think I’ll just stay home and watch the snow fly. 🙂

      • For some reason I’m thinking about fried chicken now. 🙂
I hope Millie gets back on track. It can be difficult when pets start heading down this path – tensions can run high – perfectly normal.
I splurged and bought Starbuck’s decaf for home and what a freakin’ difference. I will never buy any other. It really is delicious!
Maybe, blue eyes has eyes for a certain mystery lady he often observes at some table penning her deepest thoughts 😉
        Enjoy the snow.
My son is badgering me into driving him to school and I again – am giving in… I believe the word is ‘sucker’ 🙂

      • “But mom! Riding the bus sucks!”
        Well, maybe he didn’t say that, 🙂 You’re a good mom. 🙂
I drink Starbucks and Caribou, always bold, and always with the “bullets” added. 🙂
        Nikola, my Mastodon muse, 🙂

      • He said something like that, thanks to learning from his sis 😉
I picked up the Starbuck’s medium Decaf – I try to half the caffeine sometimes…
Your golden muse is sipping words into your creative with his magical tusks – I read here ;-)!
Took off tech day, yesterday – I needed to recharge my fingers 😉
        AM 🙂
