there are explosions outside my window this night
is this what Francis Scott Key heard
great booms
could be thunder claps
I’d love to see sprites and elves on this darkened day
did you know sprites and elves hover above the clouds
they mess around with the angels and the saints
red sprites and blue elves
lightening firing electricity
enough to piss off the winged folk
not nearly enough to rattle Zeus
he knows it’s fairy playin’
Zeus is a cool cat
angels not so much, they don’t like when their curls go flat
maybe that’s the problem with the world
too many uptight angels up there
and down here
angel cone created before Christmas and previously published…a guilt story behind my cone angel…sorry grandma
I am not uptight. I am seriously perturbed! With good reason I might add.

Good for the soul is good. Just look both ways as well as up and down before crossing an Archangel! 😉

AnnMarie, do you know about the menehune…they are Hawaiian leprechauns, and Mom loved them. Our first boat was named the Menehune Maru, so that it would always return safely. – Fawn

I do now. Thank you for sharing that fascinating lore, Fawn. If your mom liked them, they must be quite grand little mystics indeed. What a clever and beautiful name for a boat.

Love this drawing! You saw the same program we did about the top side of thunderstorms, such a cool program. Do Physics also interest you? Or Earth geology? 😉

Thank you, John.
Actually, I didn’t see the program – I’m embarrassed to admit – I read it in our local paper’s MIni page – a fab source of inspiration!
I do like geology. My daughter has a lovely geode collection. Physics – not so much. My daughter is taking advanced Physics in high school now and I suffer along with her 🙂
Happy Wednesday.

This story almost places you in the middle AnnMarie. Such a wonderful write cannot exclude the author from all the action that you write so well. Your imagination gifts you in that direction and an Angel Cone with its own hammer is just to surreal to believe that you were not there, in person! :o)

You know, I do bend to the devil’s side, my friend. I forget the post’s title from a few months back. My devilish behavior began back when I was a child. I’d stolen cardboard cones from my grandmother’s wool skeins to make Xmas angels. When she confronted me, I lied…
But 🙂 thank you for your angelic comment 😉
